The silent flower

Posted on Jul 8th, 2009 by R George Merrill : George R George Merrill
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 08, 2009:

High on some wooded mountain side there lives a small.... simple.... flower...The purity of its subtle perfume will never become a memory of that beautiful day..... It's color will never remind an old woman of her first love so many years ago.... Yet this flower thrives.... Beyond any reason we can comprehend....fulfilling its role in the symphony of life.

There is so much more to this life and this world than just what evolves around our personal orb. We will find ourselves in our own subtle egotisitcal way thinking that we know whats best. "The way I think is only logical"

How could a Democrat think they way she does, or a Republican think the way he does? "In my mind it is perfectly obvious"

Each of us are so limited in our ability to understand and comprehend. There is no way we can know all and experience all. Because of that we must be very carefull about how we assess and judge others. And Never Cast The First Stone. Or any stones for that matter.

I often catch myself thinking I know something, even though I know better.  (is that a contradiction?)  Anyway, thanks for sharing this post and the phrase “in the symphony of life”, which is so evocative and yet simple, too.

Laurie,
For me, easily said. So much harder to do.

Scott,
I'm not sure what grok means. But I agree with you, It seems I learn so much more when I accept that my understanding is so limited.

Nancy,
I like your comment “I often catch myself thinking I know something, even though I know better” We humans can be so goofy sometimes can't we. I do that all the time. At least you and I can admit that we “know better” ;-)
